Fleetwood Mac lead guitarist's former Hawaii property sold for $2M


The property once owned by Fleetwood Mac lead guitarist Lindsey Buckingham has been purchased by a partner of a Virginia venture capital company that manages about $3 billion of total capital has purchased an estate on the island of Kauai’s North Shore in Hawaii.
Public records show that Jim Fleming, partner of Alexandria-based Columbia Capital, paid $2.15 million for property that includes a 31,715-square-foot parcel in the ritzy Princeville at Hanalei neighborhood on Kauai.
The property has a total assessed value of about $1.25 million. It was sold by Buckingham and his wife, Kristen in 2016 for $1.8 million and purchased by the Buckinghams for $1.35 million in 2009.
Fleming also purchased an adjacent one-acre parcel for $2 million.
Fleming has been with Columbia Capital since 1994. The company has invested in more than 150 companies including such well-known ones as MetroPCS, XM Satellite Radio, Zayo and Nextel Communications. Fleming, a Stanford University alumnus, focuses on investments in cyber security, media and mobile sectors.
Kauai’s North Shore real estate continues to attract well-known figures including Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Oakley sunglasses and the creator of the hit television series, “The Bachelor.”
