New Orleans-style restaurant opens in Downtown Honolulu

A new restaurant and bar inspired by New Orleans’ popular Bourbon Street has recently opened in the former Mandalay Restaurant space in Downtown Honolulu.

Bourbon Street Restaurant and Bar serves creole-style meals for lunch and dinner, and also features live music and an oyster bar.

Located on Alakea Street, it hopes to attract both the downtown lunch and happy hour crowds, which are slowly starting to come back to the area.

Bourbon Street should do well in Honolulu, mainly because of the lack of competition in this market, but it will be a challenge since the effects of the pandemic are still lingering in Honolulu.
