Is Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg the buyer of an award-winning beachfront Hawaii estate?

  Could Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg be the buyer of a beachfront Hawaii estate? The purchase would add to his already sizeable collection of properties he owns on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. The billionaire tech titan, whose net worth is more than $100 billion, could be the “secret buyer” of the one-acre estate called “Wailana Malie” for $10.5 million. The property, which includes a 3,133-square-foot, four-bedroom, 4.5 bathroom residence, won HGTV’s 2020 Ultimate House Hunt competition in the Curb Appeal category. Winston Welborn of Hawaii Life was the listing agent. He did not respond to a request for comments.  The property is located in the Kilauea area on Kauai’s North Shore, which has been a red-hot area for high-priced residential real estate transactions. The property has a total tax-assessed value of about $6.6 million. New Italian, BBQ restaurants opening at Hawaii Kai Shopping Center

  Hawaii Kai Shopping Center, which is anchored by a newly-renovated and expanded Safeway store, is adding an Italian restaurant in the vacant former Pizza Hut space as well as a well-known barbecue restaurant and bar, Shimogawa Scoops has learned. Tex 808 BBQ & Brews has confirmed that it is moving from the neighboring Hawaii Kai Towne Center to the marina-facing side of the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center adjacent to Liko’s Tap & Table. Meantime, a few doors down, a new Italian restaurant called “Repetti’s Provisions” is opening in the former 1,230-square-foot Pizza Hut space that’s next to Island Brew. The new eatery filed a permit for this space this week. Repetti’s is spearheaded by the same owners as Maui’s Serpico’s Pizzeria Restaurant, where they serve authentic New Jersey-style pizza, amongst other Italian cuisine.   Home Depot, the largest home improvement retailer in the nation, may be eyeing property in the Mapunapuna area near the Daniel K. Inouye Honolulu International Airport for another store. The Atlanta-based retailer, which has seven stores in Hawaii, including three on Oahu, has filed permits this week to explore the possibility of a new store at the 132,250-square-foot Moanalua 99 Ranch Market property at 1151 Mapunapuna St. The 6.85-acre leasehold property is currently on the market with an asking price of $3 million, according to a listing with Honolulu-based Marcus & Associates Inc. Also known as the Moanalua Ethnic Village, the Moanalua 99 Ranch Market was created to provide nearby local and military communities with a variety of restaurants and professional services including Bee’s Dessert House, Mary’s Mediterranean Kitchen, Scoop & Fruit, Flamingo Express, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers and Diem 99 Café.
